Wayuu Bag History

So what is a Wayuu Bag?  The people who live in the protected desert on the border of Columbia and Venezuela are known as the Wayuu.  The women from this region have developed a method of weaving cotton into beautiful items like bags, hats and bracelets.  All Wayuu patterns are one of a kind so you'll never see another person wearing the exact Wayuu piece you own.  The inspiration for these patterns comes from inspirations like current festivals, weather, and holidays.  When we learned about the beautiful work and cause that the Wayuu bags support we knew that Haute Shore wanted to help promote and support the Wayuu women.  Click here to see Wayuu bucket bags and click here to see Wayuu clutches.
